SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Basketball Player of the Week for January 19, 2015.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SOPHIA EDERAINE, SR., F - SAN DIEGO
Senior forward Sophia Ederaine turned in perhaps the best single-game performance in San Diego program history in Saturday's win over Pacific. She became just the second Torero in program history to record a triple-double with 21 points, recorded career-highs in rebounds (23) and blocks (10). The 23 rebounds is the second most in program history for a single-game.
Ederaine also recorded seven points and had four blocks in a heartbreaking loss to Saint Mary's. She averaged 14.0 points on , 7.0 blocks and 11.5 rebounds per game.
Standout guard Amanda Rego turned in a pair of triple-doubles during her career in Alcala Park, the last coming February 9, 2008 against San Francisco in a 10-point, 10-assist, 10-steal night.
The last WCC student-athlete to turn in a triple-double was Louella Tomlinson, who recorded seven during her standout career for Saint Mary's. Tomlinson recorded a triple-double against Seattle (12/21/10) and was the last to accomplish the feat in a conference game with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 11 blocks against San Francisco (1/10/09).
