WCC Women's Basketball Approaches the 2014-15 Midpoint

  • San Diego Sr. F. Sophia Ederaine is the WCC Player of the Week.  RELEASE
  • The West Coast Conference is second in all of Division I in conference free throw percentage (72.07).*
  • BYU’s Lexi Eaton ranks 23rd in career free throws (349).
  • Pacific’s Kendall Kenyon ranks fifth among active NCAA Division I leaders in career rebounds (980), 15th in rebound average (8.9) and 5th in career double-doubles (42).
  • San Diego’s Sophia Ederaine ranks third among active NCAA Division I career leaders in blocked shots (271) and is 14th in blocked shots average (2.34).
  • San Diego’s Malina Hood is eighth overall among Division I leaders in 3 point field goals per game (3.13).
  • San Diego ranks second in all of Division I in offensive rebounds (19.0) and second in blocked shots (7.2).
  • Saint Mary’s ranks eighth in Division 1 rebound margin (11.2).
  • Gonzaga ranks seventh nationally in free throw percentage (77.7).
  • For the second time in three years, two WCC teams - Gonzaga and BYU - competed in the NCAA Tournament.
  • BYU marched to the 2014 NCAA Sweet-16 before bowing to eventual National Champion UConn.
  • Three WCC teams - Pacific, Saint Mary’s and San Diego competed in the 2014 WNIT Postseason Tournament.

Triple-Double Notes
San Diego’s Sophia Ederaine recorded the 12th ever triple-double in WCC Women’s Basketball history, a feat that only five conference schools have accomplished. The last WCC player to record a triple-double was Louella Tomlinson, we tallied seven of them during her time at Saint Mary’s.
