SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The University of San Diego's sophomore forward, Amber Sprague, was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after helping lead USD to a pair of road wins this past week over Saint Mary's and Santa Clara.
Sprague was an offensive force for the Toreros as she averaged 19 points per game, nine rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field. Sprague also registered five assists and five blocks. She tallied her fourth double-double of the season in the win over Santa Clara on Thursday with 20 points and 13 rebounds. She followed that up with a 18-point performance against SMC on Saturday. Also in Saturday's game, Sprague tied her career-high in blocks with five.
Sprague and the Toreros will return to action on Thursday as they host the University of Portland in a 7 p.m. game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
