SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's basketball player Stephanie Hawk has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office.
Hawk helped Gonzaga to a pair of road wins over the weekend, leading the Zags to sole possession of first place in the conference standings. The senior notched a pair of double-doubles on the week, scoring 20 points with 13 rebounds in Thursday's victory at San Francisco, and pouring in 16 points with 10 boards against San Diego on Saturday, handing the Toreros their first loss in conference play and fourth loss overall. Hawk, who has collected double-doubles in six out of the Bulldogs seven WCC contests, averaged a double-double of 18 points and 11.5 rebounds through the two contests, and pitched in with four assists, three blocks, and three steals.
