The Pepperdine women's basketball team opens the second half of West Coast Conference (WCC) play this week when it travels to Spokane, Wash. for a 7 p.m. PT tip against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The game will air live on ESPNU. Saturday, the Waves will head to Portland, Ore. to face the Pilots in a 2 p.m. start.
Pepperdine is 9-13 on the season with a 2-5 league record. In their last outing, the Waves scored 43 second-half points to down Saint Mary's 76-73 and snap the team's season-long five-game skid.
Junior Daphanie Kennedy returned to the starting lineup last week after missing seven games due to injury. She leads Pepperdine in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per game. Freshman Teena Wickett is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game to go along with a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game. Junior Teiosha George is close behind at 10.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Pepperdine defeated Portland 59-54 in the team's first meeting of the season before falling to Gonzaga 58-35 two days later.
