WCC Announces Players of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif --Just three weeks remain in conference play as the West Coast Conference announced its Players of the Week. Gonzaga's Matt Bouldin and Saint Mary's Omar Samhan shared the men's award, while Louella Tomlinson of Saint Mary's took home the women's honor.

Men's Player of the Week

Matt Bouldin, GON
Averaged 19.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.5 assists in wins over Portland and Memphis...Gonzaga snapped 4-game losing streak to Memphis with the road victory...for the week went 13-for-23 from field for 56.5 percent, 7-13 from 3-point range for 53.8 percent and 6-6 (all against Memphis) from the line...had 8 rebounds, 5 assists and just 1 turnover while playing 74 minutes, including all 40 against Memphis...moved into 10th on career scoring list and now has 1,537 points...also has 403 assists to become just the fifth player in Gonzaga history with 1,200 points and 400 assists...also named a finalist this past week for the Bob Cousy Award and the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

Omar Samhan, SMC
In leading Saint Mary's to wins over Santa Clara (74-62) and San Francisco this week, Omar Samhan averaged 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 7.5 blocks, and 3.0 assists per game, while shooting 54.2 percent (19-35) from the floor...in the win over Santa Clara on Thursday, he scored a game-high 22 points, and notched his 13th double-double of the season with 12 rebounds to go along with 8 blocked shots, a season-highfour assists, and one steal...in the win over USF, he had his 14th double-double of the season, and 37th of his career, with 24 points and 10 rebounds, with 7 blocked shots...his 10 rebounds moved him past the 1,000-rebound mark (1,002) for his career, becoming the 17th player in WCC history with 1,000 career rebounds.

Women's Players of the Week

Louella Tomlinson, SMC
On the weekend, Tomlinson averaged 17.0 points, 19.0 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks Tomlinson posted double-doubles in both games and the double-double versus USF marked her 16th of the season, tying Judie Lomax as the national leader in double-doubles...against USF, Tomlinson recorded a career-high 24 rebounds, tying the West Coast Conference record held by USD's Chris Enger (1990)...Tomlinson's 12 blocks bumped her season total to 161, tying the Saint Mary's and WCC single-season record for blocks that she re-set last season...with the two victories, the Gaels improve to 8-1 in conference, the best conference start in school history since 1989-90.
