SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference kicks off week eight of the league slate Thursday, Feb. 13 with four games on the docket. Two WCC programs –No. 20/15 Gonzaga and BYU – earned national top-25 votes this week and four teams rated in the top-15 of the Mid-Major Top-25 poll as released by College Basketball Insiders. The Bulldogs sit atop the standings at 12-1, BYU is 9-4, Saint Mary’s is 8-4, while San Diego is 8-5.

ALL 2014 WCC CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES TELEVISED: BYUtv will produce and televise a record 12 games from the 2014 WCC Basketball Championships at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. BYUtv will broadcast the men’s and women’s first round on Thursday, March 6, the women’s quarterfinals on Friday, March 7, a pair of men’s quarterfinals on Saturday, March 8, and the women’s semifinals on Monday, March 10. In addition, all 12 games produced by BYUtv will be streamed live on the WCC’s new platform, TheW.tv. The women’s title game on Tuesday will be carried live on ESPNU.

San Diego’s Amy Kame earned NCAA National Player of the Week (1/6) honors after leading the Toreros to a sweep against Saint Mary’s and Pacific. Kame is the second WCC student-athlete to earn national accolades this season, joining Saint Mary’s Danielle Mauldin , who was named the ESPNW National Player of the Week (12/29) after leading the Gaels to an upset win against then-No. 24 Gonzaga.
TWO WCC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ALUMNI TO BE INDUCTED: Two WCC women’s basketball alumni will be inducted into the 2014 Hall of Honor on Saturday, March 8 at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. Ten individuals, one from each member institution, will be honored as part of the 2014 West Coast Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships from March 6-11 at the Orleans Arena. Portland’s Laura Sale O’Connell and Saint Mary’s Tracy Morris Sanders will represent their respective institutions. Sale O’Connell was the WCC Player of the Year in 1996 and Morris Sanders collected WCC Player of the Year accolades in 1999. COMPLETE RELEASE .
