SPOKANE, Wash. --Gonzaga University was one of 16 institutions selected to host the first-and-second rounds of the 2013 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament as announced by the NCAA Monday. The Bulldogs, who are also hosting the first-and-second rounds for the second-straight year this season, will host the opening weekend action at the McCarthey Athletic Center on either Saturday, March 23 and Monday, March 25 or Sunday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 26, 2013 (dates to be determined in June 2012).

"I am truly ecstatic for Gonzaga to host once again," stated women's basketball head coach Kelly Graves, in his 12th year at the helm. "It is a true testament to the great fans here in Spokane and given last year's success in hosting, in which we heard over and over how exciting the environment was, it will once again give Gonzaga the opportunity to showcase our arena and our basketball community."

If Gonzaga earns a bid to the 2013 NCAA Tournament it automatically will be seeded at the McCarthey Athletic Center for the first-and-second rounds.

Other Universities hosting first-and-second round games are Louisiana State University, University of Colorado, University of Maryland, Texas A&M University, The Ohio State University, Duke University, University of Iowa, University of Tennessee, University of Louisville, Texas Tech University, University of Delaware, St. John's University, Stanford University, University of Connecticut, and Baylor University.
