Gonzaga women's basketball clinches ninth straight WCC title

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The Gonzaga women's basketball team won the West Coast Conference title outright Saturday afternoon with a 66-55 win at BYU. The title is GU's ninth consecutive WCC championship and improves the Bulldogs' record to 24-5 overall and 13-1 in the league.

The win in Provo was the 350th of GU head coach Kelly Graves' career. Gonzaga will be the No. 1 seed at the 2013 WCC Basketball Championships in Las Vegas, Nev. The Bulldogs earned a double-bye into the semifinals on Saturday, March 9th.

The Zags have made three straight trips to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, including an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals in March of 2011.
