SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Basketball Player of the Week for February 23, 2015.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - LESLIE LOPEZ-WOOD, SO., G - LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Leslie Lopez-Wood averaged 28.5 ppg by shooting 50 percent from the field, 55 percent from three and 82 percent from the free-throw line to lead LMU to a 1-1 week on the road.

On Thursday at San Francisco, the sophomore guard scored a then career-high 25 points on 9-of-20 from the field (45 percent), including 5-of-11 from three (45.5 percent). Her efforts would help the Lions battle to within three, 71-68, with just under three minutes to play, but the Dons would hold on for the win.

On Saturday at Santa Clara, Lopez-Wood would outdo herself again. Playing the entire 40 minutes, she poured in a career-high 32 points on 9-of-16 from the field (56.3 percent) and 7-of-11 from three (63.6 percent). She also sank 7-of-9 foul shots, including three straight with just under two minutes to play that opened up a game-high 14-point lead for LMU. Earlier in the game, she would score 11 straight points, including three consecutive threes.

Her seven threes tied the LMU single-game high while she also surpassed her own school record for threes in a single-season and now has 76 on the year. She became the seventh WCC player to tally a 30-point game this season and the first Lion to do so since Alex Cowling had 31 points against Portland on Feb. 11, 2012. The 75-63 win over the Broncos marked the first road victory of the year for LMU, which has won two of its last three.
