The women's event features the nationally televised WCC Women's Basketball Championship on ESPNU on March 9th, while the entire event culminates later that evening with the nationally televised WCC Men's Basketball Championship Game on ESPN in primetime at 6:00 PM (PT).

The WCC Tournament is traditionally one of the most entertaining post-season tournaments in all of college basketball. Last season, three WCC men's teams (Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, and San Diego) advanced to the NCAA Tournament, giving the WCC the fifth highest percentage of teams to earn NCAA bids. While the three teams marked an all-time high on the men's side, WCC women's basketball advanced multiple teams into the postseason for the 10th consecutive season with San Diego earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and Gonzaga participating in the WNIT.

A nationally recognized force in intercollegiate athletics, the West Coast Conference consists of Gonzaga University, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, University of Portland, Saint Mary's College, University of San Diego, University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara University.

By participating in this auction for the purpose of winning a prize under the auspices of the West Coast Conference, the bidder voluntarily assumes full responsibility for any risks of loss, property damage or personal injury that may be sustained by the bidder once the bidder gains possession of the items that he/she may win during participation in the 2009 WCC Men's and Women's Championship Auction.
