WCC Women's Basketball Looks for Strong Close to 2014-15 Regular Season

  • Through February 24, WCC teams own a 57.5% winning percentage vs. non-conference foes. See page 2 for more.
  • Loyola Marymount sophomore guard Leslie Lopez-Wood is the WCC Player of the Week. RELEASE
  • The West Coast Conference is second in all of Division I in conference free throw percentage (72.13).
  • BYU's Lexi Eaton ranks 20th in career free throws (397) and 31st in career points (1,162) among active NCAA Division 1 players.
  • Pacific's Kendall Kenyon ranks fifth among active NCAA Division I leaders in career rebounds (1,088), 14th in points (1,375), 18th in rebound average (9.1) and fifth in career double-doubles (47).
  • San Diego's Sophia Ederaine ranks second among active NCAA Division I career leaders in blocked shots (319) and is 12th in blocked shots average (2.57).
  • San Diego's Malina Hood is 12th overall among Division I leaders in 3 point field goals per game (2.96).
  • Santa Clara's Nici Gilday ranks first overall amound Division 1 leaders in free throw percentage (93.3).
  • San Diego ranks 3rd in all of Division I in offensive rebounds (18.0) and second in blocked shots (7.3).
  • Saint Mary's ranks ninth in Division 1 rebound margin (11.0).
  • For the second time in three years, two WCC teams - Gonzaga and BYU - competed in the NCAA Tournament.
  • BYU marched to the 2014 NCAA Sweet-16 before bowing to eventual National Champion UConn.
  • Three WCC teams - Pacific, Saint Mary's and San Diego competed in the 2014 WNIT Postseason Tournament.
  • Should BYU'sKyle Collinsworthrecord his sixth triple-double to tie the NCAA Division I career record, the WCC would own the all-time leaders for both men's and women's basketball. Saint Mary'sLouella Tomlinson(2007-11) shares the Division I women's record with seven during her standout career.

TOURNAMENT SEEDING:The seeding and brackets for the 2015 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships will be unveiled on Sunday, March 1.

Should there be a tie in the final regular season standings, the following will be used to break the tie for tournament seeding purposes:
1) Head-to-head results
2) Results vs. other teams in descending order of finish
3) RPI (Collegiate Basketball News RPI)
*In the case of multiple ties, the one which can be resolved
