SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The 2012 Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships will commence on Wednesday, February 29 at 3 p.m. PT at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. No. 9 Loyola Marymount will face No. 8 San Francisco.

QUICK HITS

  • The West Coast Conference announced its 2012 individual award winners and all-conference team as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.. BYU senior Kristen is the Player of the Year and San Diego's Cindy Fisher is the Coach of the Year.   • The WCC released its 2012 All-Academic team. Four members of this year's team appeared on the 2010-11 team, including San Francisco's Vania Singleterry, who is making her third appearance on the squad. See the following pages for the full list of winners.

  • Loyola Marymount redshirt-senior Alex Cowling finished the regular season as the WCC scoring leader with 22.5 points per game, which is eighth in the country. The final regular stats are attached.

  • BYU's Haley Steed is first in the WCC and fifth in the NCAA with 7.2 assists per game. Steed is a 2012 all-conference selection.
