BYU senior Kristen Riley is WCC February Player of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- As announced on Thursday, March 8 by the West Coast Conference, the WCC is pleased to recognize its February Women's Basketball Player of the Month, Kristen Riley from BYU.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE MONTH
KRISTEN RILEY, SENIOR CENTER

BYU senior center Kristen Riley is the WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Month for February. The senior co-captain started every game and recorded five double-doubles for the Cougars, including four straight.

For the month Riley averaged 13.9 points, 10.3 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from the field, 35 percent from the 3-point mark and 75 percent at the free throw line.

She finished the month with a total of 97 points, 72 rebounds, including 53 defensive boards, six blocks and nine steals.

Riley recorded her 10th double-double of the season and the 14th of her career with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds in a home contest vs. Santa Clara. In that game, she put her name in BYU's record books by becoming the school's 22nd player to reach 1,000 points in her career with 1,009.
