MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's basketball team is headed to Dever, Colo. to face The University of Oklahoma as the No. 15 seed of the San Antonio region in the 2006 NCAA women's basketball tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. (PT) on Sat., March 18, at the Pepsi Center and will be aired live on ESPN2.
The Waves earned the West Coast Conference's (WCC) automatic bid to the tournament by recording three victories in four days at the conference tournament, capped by a 71-67 decision over top-seeded Santa Clara in the championship game.
Pepperdine and the Sooners will meet for the fourth time and first since the 2003-04 season. All three of the previous meetings have been in Malibu with OU holding a 2-1 advantage in the series.
