Gonzaga Ready for Fourth Sweet-16 Appearance Since 2010 on Friday

WEST COAST CONFERENCE POSTSEASON QUICK HITS

  • No. 11 Gonzaga is one of just five programs (Duke, Louisville, Notre Dame and North Carolina) with both its men's and women's basketball programs in the 2015 NCAA Sweet-16 field.
  • Gonzaga makes its conference-best fourth Sweet-16 appearance (2010, 11, 12 & 15). The Bulldogs marched to the Elite Eight in 2011 - while competing in Spokane, Wash.
  • This marks the fifth time in six seasons a WCC team has advanced to the NCAA Sweet-16 and the second consecutive. Gonzaga (2010-12, 2015) leads the way with four trips, BYU advanced in 2014.
  • The West Coast Conference owns an all-time record of 14-31 in the NCAA Postseason (34 overall berths) and is 24-33 in the WNIT.
  • No. 11 Gonzaga advanced to its seventh straight NCAA Tournament (eighth overall) and won its 11th straight WCC regular season title in 2014-15.
  • Saint Mary's advanced to the Sweet-16 round of the WNIT marking its second deep run after advancing to the Elite Eight round in 2013.
  • No. 14 BYU made its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance and third in its last four years. The Cougars marched to the 2014 NCAA Sweet-16.
  • For the second straight season and for the third time in four years, the West Coast Conference sent two teams to the NCAA Tournament: No. 14 BYU and No. 11 Gonzaga. This marks the 10th time that two WCC teams have advanced to the NCAA postseason.
  • Pacific made its second straight WNIT appearance as a WCC member, fifth overall. Saint Mary's is competing in its sixth straight WNIT appearance (eighth overall). San Diego made its fifth WNIT appearance (fourth consecutive). San Francisco made its second WNIT appearance (2002).
