Hawk Garners All-America Honors

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's basketball senior Stephanie Hawk became just the second Bulldog player to earn All-America honors from the Associated Press. Hawk was named an honorable mention selection after Gonzaga ended its season in the first round of the NCAA Division I Tournament; its inaugural appearance. The only other player to earn this recognition was former Zag Shannon Matthews who garnered honorable mention accolades in 2005.

Hawk was named the West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Year earlier this month after helping Gonzaga to a 13-1 conference mark and its third-straight WCC regular-season title. She also was named to the WCC All-Tournament team after guiding the Bulldogs to their first-ever conference title. Hawk finished her career first on the Gonzaga career blocks list with 167, fourth on the career rebound list with 684 and ninth on the career scoring list with 1,231. A native of Spokane, Wash., she was a two-time All-WCC honoree.
