WCC Announces 2007-08 Men's and Women's Basketball Television Schedule

Sept. 6, 2007

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - West Coast Conference Commissioner Michael Gilleran announced today the 2007-08 WCC men's and women's basketball television schedule. The WCC will have 21 games televised nationally on ESPN's family of networks.

For the third consecutive season, the WCC, along with the Big East and the Big 12 will be featured on ESPN's `Big Monday' television package, with seven conference appearances. Also, for the third consecutive year, both WCC men's basketball tournament semifinals will be televised live with both games being showcased on ESPN2. The men's championship game will be broadcast live on ESPN.

"The West Coast Conference is excited about its new multi-year agreement with ESPN," said Gilleran. "We are once again honored to compete on ESPN's `Big Monday' and are thrilled about the added exposure that ESPN's family of networks will provide to our student-athletes, our institutions and the WCC as a whole." added Gilleran.

In March of 2007, the WCC and ESPN reached a new multi-year agreement that runs through 2010-2011. The agreement provides the WCC with extensive coverage of men's and women's basketball across ESPN's multimedia entities.

Two WCC women's basketball regular season games will be televised on ESPNU. The featured games are Pepperdine at Gonzaga on January 10th and Loyola Marymount at San Diego on January 31st.

About the West Coast Conference
The West Coast Conference first got its start back in 1952. Now, 55 years later, it's a marvelously cohesive athletics league in its 28th season under its present eight-team mix. The current members of the WCC span the western coast of the United States from Canada to Mexico, including Gonzaga, LMU, Pepperdine, Portland, Saint Mary's, San Diego, San Francisco and Santa Clara. The current alignment has remained unchanged since 1979, making the WCC the third most stable conference in the nation. Only the Ivy League and Pacific-10 Conference have been together longer.
