Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 21) - The anticipation of the 2006-07 basketball campaign continues to build as it is less than a month before the official beginning of the season with Madness at Midnight. However, fans wanting to get a sneak peak on the Lion programs this coming season can catch Women's Basketball Head Coach Julie Wilhoit and Men's Basketball Head Coach Rodney Tention at several special events in the next coming weeks.

Both the teams at LMU are getting nods to be serious contenders for the 2006-07 West Coast Conference title. Fans can find out why when Wilhoit and Tention make stops in northern California, Orange Country and in Los Angeles.

The first event will be Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Santa Ana Country Club in Santa Ana, Calif. The event will be hosted by AG and Kay Kading and will run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wilhoit and Tention will then head to the Silicon Valley Capital Club in San Jose, Calif, on Tuesday, Oct. 3. William Del Biaggio III ('89) and Joe Bronson will host the event set to begin at 5:00 p.m.

Both coaches will return to Los Angeles for the third stop in their tour, this one in their own backyard. On Thursday, Oct. 5 Wilhoit and Tention will be at Stick & Stein at 6:30 p.m.

To attend any of these events, fans must RSVP by calling (310) 338-5278 as space is limited at each location.

Tention will also speak at the annual Wooden Award Coaches' Luncheon at the Downtown Athletic Club on Thursday, Oct. 12 beginning at 11:30 a.m. LMU will have two tables and anyone interested in attending should contact Brian Luft at (310) 338-7853. Space is very limited to this event and not guaranteed.

The season will then officially begin with Madness at Midnight on Friday, Oct. 13 at Gersten Pavilion. Doors open at 10:30 p.m.
