In the final stop of their October speaking tour, Loyola Marymount basketball coaches Julie Wilhoit and Rodney Tention will speak to LMU faithful in their final stop of their fall speaking tour today, Thursday, Oct. 5. The coaches will be at Stick N'Stein at 6 p.m.
For LMU basketball fans, the 2006-07 season could be a special one as both teams have been picked to be a challenger for the West Coast Conference title. Fans can find out what the coaches think in the Los Angeles stop of their 2006 Fall Speaking Tour.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Stick N'Stein, 707 N. Sepulveda Blvd., in El Segundo. It will be a chance to meet the coaches one-on-one, hear what they have to say about the upcoming season and find out why the LMU basketball has such a bright future.
The season will officially begin with Madness at Midnight on Friday, Oct. 13. Doors open at 10 p.m. for the annual event with the first real practic for both teams starting on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The women's team will play a home exhibition on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. against the Melbourne Roos. Their season will then begin in the Preseason NIT at Stanford on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
For the men, they will play Cal Poly Pomona in their one home exhibition before opening the season at Gersten Pavilion against 2006 NCAA tournament participant Oral Roberts on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
