SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference and CBS Sports Network have announced that two WCC women's basketball games will air nationally this season.
The University of Portland at the University of San Diego will be televised on January 19, 2012 with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT. Loyola Marymount University will visit Gonzaga University the following week on January 26, 2012 with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT.
CBS Sports Network can be found on cable and satellite providers nationwide, including DIRECTV channel 613 and DISH Network channel 152.
Gonzaga, selected to repeat as WCC champions, return All-WCC selections seniors Katelan Redmon and Kayla Standish. The Bulldogs advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever last season.
Loyola Marymount was picked to finish fourth in the conference. Redshirt-senior Alex Cowling returns from injury for the Lions. Cowling averaged 22.6 points in six games before suffering a foot injury last season.
Portland, one of two teams with multiple selections on the Preseason All-WCC team, is led by senior All-WCC honorees Natalie Day and ReZina TecleMariam.
San Diego advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Senior guard Dominique Conners was selected to the Preseason All-WCC team.
