Portland's Natalie Day is WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its first women's basketball Player of the Week award-winner for the 2011-2012 season.

NATALIE DAY, SR., G/F, PORTLAND

Portland senior guard/forward Natalie Day is the WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Day averaged 22.0 points and seven rebounds per game as the Pilots opened the season by splitting their two games at the Chiles Center.

After her 19-point, six-rebound performance against Montana State on Friday night, Day went for 22 points and seven boards during Sunday's 64-56 win over UC Irvine. She also had four steals and three assists against the Anteaters. Day shot 11 of 13 from the floor on Sunday, making her 18-for-28 on the weekend for a sparkling percentage of .643.
