Bowman Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University women's basketball player Heather Bowman has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, Nov. 19.

Bowman, a sophomore forward, led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 start to open the 2007-08 campaign. She averaged a double-double of 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds over the first two contests and shot 15-of-27 (55.6) from the field and sank 10-of-11 (90.9) from the free throw line.

Bowman started the season off scoring a game-high 21 points in the Zags 91-72 victory over the University of Washington. It was the first-ever win over the Huskies for the Bulldogs. She followed that performance up with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds in the Bulldogs 93-55 win over the University of Nevada.

Gonzaga returns to action tonight as it welcomes the University of Montana to the McCarthey Athletic Center. The Bulldogs will match-up with the Grizzlies at 7 p.m.
