Portland's Natalie Day is WCC Player of the Week For Second Week in a Row

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its second women's basketball Player of the Week award-winner for the 2011-2012 season.

NATALIE DAY, SR., G/F, PORTLAND

Portland senior guard/forward Natalie Day is the WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second week in a row. Day averaged 19.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot 54.8 percent from the field as the Pilots went 2-1 at the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i last weekend.

Day opened with 19 points and seven boards as the Pilots defeated Hawai'i 82-64 on Friday night. After scoring 18 points against No. 18 DePaul on Saturday, Day knocked the game-winning free throws on Sunday against San Diego State with 2.8 seconds left in the game. The Pilots won that game 59-58 over SDSU and were co-champions of the Rainbow Wahine Classic. Day was named to the all-tournament team.
