San Francisco senior forward Dominique Carter was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday afternoon by the conference office. In three games from Nov. 18 - Nov. 24, Carter averaged 23.0 points and 9.7 rebounds, while shooting .590 from the field.
Carter scored a game-high 24 points on 11-for-16 shooting and collected 10 rebounds in the Dons' win over Cal State Fullerton on Monday. On Friday, she turned in her second straight double-double with a superb 27-point, 10-rebound, effort in USF's 78-66 win over UMKC. Carter finished the week with 18 points and nine boards in the Dons' 73-70 overtime loss to Villanova Saturday evening.
A three-time WCC first team selection, Carter is looking to become only the second West Coast Conference player ever to earn four conference first team nods. She currently ranks second in the conference with an average of 18.7 points per game. Carter also sits fifth in shooting percentage at .542, sixth in rebound per game at 7.5 and seventh in free throw percentage at .850.
Entering the week, Carter ranks seventh on USF's career list for points with 1,374.
San Francisco plays their next game on Wednesday at Stanford. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.
