Seven WCC teams .500 or better through first few weeks of season

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- West Coast Conference women's basketball continues with games every day this week. Gonzaga and San Diego each have one loss, and seven out of the nine WCC teams have a record of .500 or better.


  • Gonzaga is receiving votes in this week's AP Top 25. The Bulldogs won two out of three games at the Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico last week. The Zags defeated Missouri State and Winthrop, but lost to No. 6 Louisville.

  • San Diego picked up a pair of wins last week at home. Junior guard Amy Kame scored a career-high 28 points in a 78-44 win over Northern Colorado last Friday.

  • Saint Mary's won its Thanksgiving tournament with wins over Butler and previously-unbeaten Tennessee-Chattanooga. WCC Player of the Week Jackie Nared scored a career-high 28 points and added 11 rebounds in the 70-67 win over Chattanooga.

  • San Francisco improved to 3-2 win a 75-61 win over Boise State last Saturday. Senior Mel Khlok knocked down six three-pointers in the win.

  • Santa Clara junior Ricki Radanovich made seven three's in an 82-71 win over Cleveland State last Saturday in Reno. She is third in the WCC with 2.3 three-pointers per game.
