MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine freshman forward Teena Wickett was selected as the West Coast Conference (WCC) women's basketball Player of the Week for games of Nov. 27- Dec. 3 announced by the league office Monday morning.
This marks the first time in her career she has earned the conference's top weekly honor and second time this season a Pepperdine athlete has earned the accolade.
Wickett averaged 17 points and 10.5 rebounds in victories over Cal State Northridge and Texas-Arlington. She shot .619 on 13-of-21 shooting from the field and went 8-for-9 from the charity stripe.
The Oakland, Calif. native sat out the Sunday's game against TCU after being injured late in Pepperdine's victory over UTA Friday night.
The Waves wrap up their four-game road trip Wednesday night at UC Riverside. Tip-off against the Highlanders is set for 7 p.m.
