Saint Mary's, San Diego on four-game winning streaks

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- West Coast Conference women's basketball continues with games every day this week. Saint Mary's and San Diego have won four games in a row. USD will face San Diego State this weekend in a game televised on FOX Sports San Diego.


  • San Diego improved to 5-1 with a pair of wins at the Air Force Academy Tournament last week. Amy Kame averaged eight steals last week for the Toreros. She is second in the nation with 4.50 steals per game. USD has now won four games in a row.

  • Saint Mary's is also on a four game winning streak. The Gaels won 70-67 at Cal Poly and 49-39 at UC Santa Barbara last week. Junior forward Danielle Mauldin is pulling down 11.3 rebounds per game this season, tops in the conference and 11th in the country.

  • San Francisco is now 4-3 after a dramatic 61-60 win at Texas-San Antonio last Sunday. Freshman Taylor Proctor's two free-throws with 1.4 second left sent the game to overtime. Proctor then hit a buzzer-beater in overtime to give the Dons the win.

  • Santa Clara senior guard Meagan Fulps scored a game-high 23 points in a 70-67 loss to Cal State Northridge last week. Fulps shot five of five from beyond the arc and is shooting 46.5% from three-point range this season, which is third in the WCC and 25th in the NCAA.
