WCC women's basketball nonconference play resumes December 28th

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- After a week off for the holiday break, WCC women's basketball nonconference action resumes Friday, December 28th. Seven West Coast Conference teams boast a record of .500 or better and Gonzaga is receiving votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • With conference play just a couple of weeks away, seven West Coast Conference women's basketball teams have a winningpercentage of .500 or better. Gonzaga (10-3) is receiving votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

  • BYU has won five straight. The Cougars overcame an 11-point deficit to defeat Seattle 70-62 last Thursday. Haley Steed scored a game-high 18 points and added eight assists.

  • Portland has won a season-high four games in a row. The Pilots went into the holiday break with a 68-49 win over Oregon at the Chiles Center. Two-time WCC Player of the Week Kari Luttinen scored a game-high 22 points in the win.

  • The West Coast Conference will feature its women's basketball coaches and student-athletes with weekly Google+ hangouts throughout conference play in 2013. Every Tuesday beginning January 8th, join the hangouts for the live video interviews.
