Women's Varsity Crew Travels East

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's varsity crew will travel to the East Coast this weekend to compete in the Knecht Cup hosted by Villanova University on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ. This will be the second straight year that Gonzaga has competed in the 8th annual event. The Bulldogs placed fifth in the Grand Final at last year's event.

Gonzaga will compete in the third of five heat races on Saturday morning grouped with Holy Cross, Boston College, Delaware and Rhode Island. The top three boats from each heat race advance to the Saturday afternoon semifinals which will be used to determine competitors in the Sunday's final races. Massachusetts won the Knecht Cup Grand Final last year.

Gonzaga's varsity 8+ line-up will consist of coxswain Erin Palmiter, stroke Kari Durgan, Sarah Allison, Cory Nelson, Jessica Kocarnik, Nicole Aadland-Lewis, Kelsey Koenig, Julie Smetana and bow Kelsey Raap.
