Women's Rowing Signs Three For Next Year

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head women's rowing coach Glenn Putyrae announced the addition of three rowers to his team for the 2005-06 school year. Signing national letters of intent with the Bulldogs are Jana Holcombe, Kate Little and Lauren Rundberg. Gonzaga recently finished its 2005 season by winning its 9th-consecutive West Coast Conference championship and second WIRA championship in the last four seasons.

Holcombe is from Firecrest, Wash., and currently attends Bellarmine Prep. She has rowed for Commencement Bay Rowing Club the last two years competing in the varsity 8 and varsity 4.

Little is from Fall City, Wash., and currently attends Mount Si High School. She has rowed for Sammamish Rowing Club the last two years competing in the varsity 8 and junior varsity 4. Last year she was voted the most inspirational rower for SRC.

Rundberg is from Bainbridge Island, Wash., and currently attends Bainbridge High School. She has rowed for Lake Union that last two years competing in the quad and double. Her quad placed third at the Northwest Regional championships in 2004. Rundberg also rowed for Bainbridge Rowing Club her freshman and sophomore years.
