Women's Crew Completes Coaching Staff

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head women's crew coach Glenn Putyrae announced the completion of his staff for the 2005-06 school year with the addition of former Gonzaga team members Courtney Haase and Nicki Lustig to the Bulldogs staff. Haase replaces Sandy Calfo who left to become the novice women's coach at the University of Cincinnati while Lustig will serve as a volunteer assistant coach this season.

Haase was the Bulldogs coxswain on four West Coast Conference championship teams from 2000-03 earning All-WCC honors in 2001 and 2002. Haase also earned first-team All-WIRA honors in 2003 as she coxed the Bulldogs varsity 8+ boat to the ECAC National Rowing Invitational Championship. In 2004 Haase coached the novice rowers at Saint Mary's College as the Gaels won the novice 4+ at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.

Lustig was a two-year rower for the Bulldogs in 2001 and 2002 helping Gonzaga win the WIRA Championship in 2002. Lustig was a two-time All-WCC and first-team All-WIRA selection as she was named to the US Rowing Honor Roll in 2002. Lustig was named the Gonzaga Bulldog Club Senior Women's Athlete of the Year in 2002 after earning the second of her first-team CRCA All-West Region selections.
