Freshman Misun Cho continued her solid play of recent weeks as she posted a 5-over par 36-hole total of 147 to tie for 11th place and help the third-ranked Pepperdine women's golf team to fifth-place standing after two rounds of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational that opened Monday at the Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona.
The Waves are at 29-over par 597 and 20-shots behind Arizona State, which shot a second-round total of 7-under par 277 and is at 9-over 577. The Wildcats hold an 11-stroke lead over second-place Duke (588). USC (590) is third, followed by New Mexico (595) and Pepperdine.
After opening with a 5-over par 76, Cho came back in the afternoon to shoot even-par 71 and finish at 5-over par 147, eight shots behind Duke's Amanda Blumenhurst, who is at 3-under par 139 and holds a two-shot lead over Arizona State's Jennifer Osborn (141).
Three players are tied for third to round out the top five.
The 15-team field boats 12 schools ranked in Golfweek's Top 30 and seven in the Top 10.
