Freshman Misun Cho carded a final-round 1-over par 72 to finish in a tie for 11th place and help the No.3 Pepperdine women's golf team tie for fifth at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational that concluded Tuesday at the par-71, 6,238-yard Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona.
The Waves finished with a 54-hole score of 45-over par 897 to tie New Mexico for fifth place, 29 shots behind Arizona State (868), which registered an eight-shot victory over second-place Duke (876). USC (881) finished third while Brigham Young placed fourth (895).
It was another strong finish Pepperdine as the 15-team field included 12 teams ranked in Golfweek's Top 30, including seven in the Top 10.
Cho, who totaled a 6-over par 219, tied four other golfers for 11th, nine-shots behind Duke's Amanda Blumenherst, who finished at 3-under par 219. Blumenherst recorded a four-shot victory over Arizona State's Anna Nordqvist and USC's Dewi Schreefel as both golfers posted 1-over par scores of 214.
Sophomore Nicole Montgomery tied for 41st with an 18-over par total of 231.
Pepperdine is idle until March 5, when it opens play at the UCF Challenge at the Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
