No. 5 Pepperdine tied for Second After 18 Holes of PING/ASU Invitational

Sophomore Jayvie Agojo shot a 2-under par 70 and the No. 5 Pepperdine women's golf team carded a first-round total of 2-over par 290 to tie Oklahoma State for second place after 18 holes of the PING/ASU Invitational that opened Friday at the par-72, 6,230-yard Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona.

Host Arizona State is the first-round leader after shooting a 3-under par 285 to hold a five-shot lead over the Waves and Cowboys. The 17-team field includes 10 teams ranked in Golfweek's Top 30 poll, including seven in the Top 10.

Agojo is one of three players tied for fourth place, two shots behind Oklahoma State's Permilla Linberg, who shot an opening-day score of 4-under par 68. Vanderbilt's Jacqui Concolino and Anna Nordqvist of Arizona State are tied for second with 3-under par scores of 69.

Freshman Misun Cho is tied for 10th after shooting even-par 72, while sophomore Nicole Montgomery is tied for 16th following a 1-over par round of 73.
