(St. George, UT) - USF women's golf shot a 316 in the second round of the 2007 NCAA West Regional at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Friday and find themselves in 15th place at 626 (310, 316) heading into the final 18 holes Saturday.

Oklahoma State shot the best round of the day at 290 and took the lead heading into the final round at 581 (291, 290), six shots in front of Stanford at 587 (287, 300). Arizona State at 590 (294, 296), UC Irvine at 597 (295, 302) and Pepperdine at 600 (301, 299) round out the top-five teams.

Freshman Christina Stockton shot a five-over 76 to lead the Dons, while junior Jessica Potter shot a six-over 77. Stockton paced USF with 12 pars, while freshman Natasha Podmore, Potter and senior Kristin Nichols shared the birdies lead with two apiece.

San Francisco opened the second round in strong fashion, finishing eight over on the front nine. Disaster struck after the turn as the Dons went 23 over with 12 double-bogey or worse holes on the back nine.

USF was certainly not the only team to go high during the second round as temperatures on the course soared to nearly 100 degrees by early afternoon. Just three schools shot below 300 for the day, compared to seven on Thursday.

San Francisco looks for a strong finish to the 2007 NCAA West Regional on Saturday. The Dons tee off beginning at 11:30 AM (PT). Check USFDons.com for complete results and recap. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com and can be accessed by clicking the link under the events menu.
