Columbus, Ohio - Pepperdine junior Eileen Vargas carded a 4-under par 68 and is atop the leaderboard after the first round of the 2006 NCAA Division Women's Golf Championships that opened Tuesday at the par-72, 6,203-yard Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.
