(Sammamish, WA) - USF women's golf is in 15th place after the first round of the 2006 Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by Washington. The Dons posted a 324 at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, WA Monday, October 9.
In only her second collegiate event, freshman Natasha Podmore paced the Green and Gold, carding four birdies in the first round. Podmore posted a three-over 75, good for a share of 11th place.
After a day of competitive play, No. 6 Arizona State leads the pack at 299, followed by New Mexico (301) and No. 4 Arizona (301), tied for second. West Coast Conference rival Pepperdine finished in fourth at 302 and No. 13 Stanford rounds out the top five at 303. Stanford's Mari Chun holds first place with a four-under 68.
The tournament continues with the second round, Tuesday, October 10 at the Sahalee Country Club. The first tee time is scheduled at 10:00 am. The final round will take place Wednesday, October 11. Visit usfdons.com for live scoring and a full recap and results.
