Henderson, Nev. - Junior Leanne Bowditch shot a 2-under par 70 to help the 10th-ranked Pepperdine women's golf team to a 4-over par total of 292 on Tuesday and move the Waves into a tie for third place after two rounds of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the par-72, 6,175-yard Anthem Country Club in Henderson, Nevada.
Oklahoma State carded the only under-par score of the day, posting an 8-under total of 280, and holds a nine-shot advantage over second-place Arizona State heading into Wednesday's final round. The Cowgirls are at 4-under 572 while the Wildcats have a 54-hole score of 5-over par 581.
Pepperdine and USC are tied for third with 9-over par scores of 585. Arizona is fifth with a total of 15-over par 591.
Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll and Arizona State's Azahara Munoz are tied for the individual lead with 5-under par scores of 139 and hold a two-shot lead over Oklahoma State's Sarah Bradley and Brigham Young's Rachel Newren.
Senior All-American Eileen Vargas posted a second-round score of 73 and is among a group of six players tied for ninth with 1-over par totals of 145.
Bowditch is part of a group of four players tied for 15th with 2-over par scores of 146 while freshman Misun Cho and sophomores Nicole Montgomery and Jayvie Agojo are part of a group of nine players tied for 23rd with 4-over par scores of 148.
