Kauai, Hawaii - Junior Stephanie Gelleni shot a third-round 2-over par 72 to help No. 8 Pepperdine post a final-round total of 15-over par 295 and a second-place showing at the nine-team Aloha Purdue Collegiate Invitational that concluded Thursday at the par-70, 6,183-yard Kiahuna Golf Club in Kauai, Hawaii.
Host Purdue carded a final-round 3-over par 283 to conclude the 54-hole event with a 38-over par score of 878 and finish seven shots ahead of the Waves (885). Kent State and UNLV tied for third at 893 while Texas Christian (907) rounded out the top five.
Individually, UNLV's Natasha Krishna claimed individual medalist honors with a 2-over par score of 212 and registered a three-shot win over Purdue's Maria Hernandez (215).
Junior Leanne Bowditch shot a final-round 4-over 74 and placed fourth with an 8-over par score of 218 to lead Pepperdine.
The Aloha Purdue Collegiate Invitational marked the conclusion of Pepperdine's fall schedule. The Waves begin their spring season at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge February 12 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
