Bulldog Women's Golf Tied For 7th

BEAUMONT, Calif. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team is in a three-way tie for seventh after the first round of the Lady Braveheart Challenge Golf Tournament Monday.

The Bulldogs are tied with Cal State Northridge and host UC Riverside at 326, two shots out of fourth and trailing co-leaders San Diego State University and UC Davis at 309.

Sarah Sheffield is tied for eighth to lead the Bulldogs, shooting a first-round 78 over the 6,080-yard, par 72 Oak Valley Golf Club layout. Mary Kate Morgan is tied for 18th after shooting 80.

The UC Davis duo of Bryana Gregory and Sydney Roughton share the first-round lead at even-par 72. UCR sophomore Jennifer Bermingham is in third, one stroke behind at 73.

The tournament, which concludes Tuesday, is the spring opener for the Bulldogs.
