COPPEROPOLIS, Calif. - Gonzaga University's Mary Kate Morgan is in seventh place after 36 holes of the West Coast Conference Championship.
Morgan fired a 76-77 for a 153 over the 5,823-yard, par 72 Saddle Creek Golf Course layout. Morgan is just one stroke out of sixth and two strokes out of fifth heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Jayvie Agojo of Pepperdine University is the leader at 146 for a 3-stroke lead over Jessica Potter of the University of San Francisco.
The Bulldogs shot 655 as a team to tie the University of Portland for fifth place.
Pepperdine University heads the team race with a 594, well in front of runnerup USF at 621.
Gonzaga suffered a blow when Jennifer Swanson, playing in the second spot, had to withdraw after five holes of the second round because of a bad back. She shot an opening-round 91.
"She wanted to try and play to see if she could help the team, but she just wasn't able to go," Gonzaga head coach Robert Gray said. "She's going to see if she can play tomorrow to help the team."
Gray said Swanson can compete as part of the team but she is ineligible for individual placing because she withdrew on Monday.
