AUSTIN, Texas - After Friday's second round of the NCAA Central Regional, the Pepperdine women's golf team stands in 15th place at the par-72 University of Texas Golf Club.
Pepperdine is trying to make its ninth appearance at the NCAA Championships in 10 years, but only the top eight teams will advance. The Waves shot a 304 on Thursday and a 308 on Friday and now have a total of 612, which is 12 strokes out of eighth place. The third and final round is on Saturday.
Junior Jayvie Agojo (Bangkal, Philippines) took over the team lead, as she jumped from a tie for 39th into a tie for 23rd after a 2-over 74 put her at 149. Agojo was 4-over after just four holes, but played 2-under the rest of the way with four birdies.
Senior Leanne Bowditch (Peregian, Australia) shot a 78 and is tied for 32nd at 150, freshman Taylore Karle (Scottsdale, Ariz.) had a 77 and is tied for 48th at 153, freshman Martine de Gannes (Diego Martin, Trinidad) had an 80 and is tied for 86th at 161 and senior Stephanie Gelleni (Caracas, Venezuela) had a 79 and is tied for 99th at 165.
