SPOKANE, Wash. - Carter Schick of Olympia High and Lauren Reynolds from Camas High will join the Gonzaga University women's golf team next fall, Bulldogs head coach Robert Gray announced.

Both completed play earlier this week in state competition. Schick finished sixth at the Washington State 4A Championship after shooting 72-80 for a 36-hole score of 152, just three shots out of second place. Olympia tied for seventh in the team chase in the tournament played at the par 72 Avalon Golf Links in Burlington. Reynolds, who captured medalist honors in the District tournament by 19 strokes, tied for 16th at the Washington State 3A Championship with rounds of 83-86 for a 36-hole total of 169 over the par 72 Sudden Valley Golf and Country Club Course. Camas finished eighth as a team.

Schick was first-team All-Narrows League each of the past two years and won the league crown this season with a 36-hole score of 155. She finished ninth in the District Tournament, and set a school record for lowest score average this season with 33. She also captained the squad and participated in the State 4A Tournament as a junior.

This past basketball season Schick was also an All-Area honorable mention selection in basketball, Olympia eliminated in the District tournament. She was also a two-time State 4A cross country participant.

Reynolds finished 15th at the Washington State 3A Championship as a junior last season after placing third in the District tournament. She also participated in State as a sophomore. She captured the 2006 Klamath Basin Junior Championship, finished second at the 2006 Chinook Winds Junior Classic and tied for third at the 2006 Sandpines Junior Championship.

"Both players will come in with a chance to make the top five this fall," Gray said. "They are both coming off fine senior seasons and I look for them to continue to improve their games throughout the summer."
