Morgan Ties For 36th At Ptarmigan/Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team opened the season with a 14th-place showing at the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic hosted by Colorado State University that concluded Tuesday.

The Bulldogs finished with a 54-hole score of 942 with rounds of 319-306-317 over the 6,223-yard, par 72 Ptarmigan Country Club layout. The University of Colorado shot an 872 for a 1-stroke victory over Baylor University.

Mary Kate Morgan was the top Bulldogs performer. After an opening-round 81 she posted back-to-back 73s for a 54-hole total of 227 to tie for 36th. Kay Hoey of Long Beach State University had a final-round 68 and finished at 209 for a 5-stroke win over Lindsey Senger of Colorado.

Play was suspended by darkness on Monday with golfers still on the course following a two-hour delay due to lightning and rain. Monday's second round was completed Tuesday prior to the start of the scheduled final 18 holes.

The Bulldogs will be at the Salbasgeon Inn & Suites Invitational hosted by Oregon State University next Monday and Tuesday.
