Women's Golf Struggles At Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team struggled through 36 holes of the Colorado University Heather Farr Memorial Invitational on Monday, the Bulldogs shooting a 323-329 for a 36-hole total of 652 and last place in the 17-team field heading into Tuesday's final round.

Sarah Sheffield and Lacey Jo Manwaring had first-round 78's and Mary Kate Morgan a second-round 78 for the best Bulldog rounds of the day and the only rounds under 80 over the 6,280-yard, par 72 Omni Interlocken Golf Course.

Sheffield was tied for 60th at 159 after rounds of 78-81, while Manwaring was tied for 66th with rounds of 78-82 for a 160.

The University of Denver holds the team lead at 594 for a 7-shot lead over the University of Idaho. Dale Gammie of the University of Hawaii was the 36-hole leader at 142 after rounds of 71-71. That left her two shots ahead of Kayla Morinaga of Portland State University.
