Sheffield Tied For 25th In New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, NM - Gonzaga University's women's golf team shot a second-round 310 Tuesday at the Price's "Give `em Five" Invitational hosted by New Mexico State University, but the Bulldogs were unable to climb in the team standings.

The Bulldogs Sarah Sheffield improved her lot by one spot, shooting a second straight 76 over the 6,319-yard, par 72 NMSU Golf Course for a 36-hole total of 152 and a tie for 24th. Lacey Jo Manwaring had a 77 and is tied for 49th at 157 and Rachel Sibbitt shot a 78 for a two-round total of 158 and a tie for 54th.

The Bulldogs are at 626 and 15th heading into Wednesday's final round, just two strokes behind 14th-place Samford University and four back of the host Aggies in 13th.

North Carolina State University is the team leader at 602, one shot ahead of the University of Idaho and the University of Michigan.

Lene Hafsten-Morch of Baylor University is the individual leader at 144 after two rounds of even-par 72.
