San Bruno, Calif. - Freshman Misun Cho, who brought with her to the Pepperdine women's golf program an impressive junior career resume, has already in just two tournaments made a name for herself at the collegiate level as she was selected the West Coast Conference's (WCC) Golfer of the Month for October, it was announced on Friday.
In her first collegiate tournament, Cho finished fourth at the 15-team field Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational that included seven top 30 teams after carding rounds of 75-74-70 for a 219 total to help the Waves to a fourth-place finish. The performance earned her a No. 2 national ranking by Golfweek.
Cho, a native of Cheongju City, South Korea, closed out the month with a 21st place finish at the 17-team field Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown that included nine top 30 teams. Cho posted scores of 72-76-71 for a 219 total to help Pepperdine finish third.
