SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Golf Player of the Month for October 2013.

Marissa Chow paced Pepperdine as the top finisher in both October tournaments as the Waves posted a pair of top-10 showings in strong national fields.
Chow tied for 11th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate and tied for 16th place at the Schooner Fall Classic. She averaged 71.67 strokes per round and three of her six rounds were below par. Both tournaments were against highly competitive fields (the Stanford event featured 10 top-25 ranked teams, the Schooner had six).
The Honolulu, Hawaii native finished better than 24 other players ranked in Golfstat’s top-100 at Stanford. Chow, who is averaging a team-best 71.25 strokes per round, is currently ranked seventh nationally by Golfstat and ninth by Golfweek/Sagarin among individuals.
