Women's Lacrosse Suffers Late Game Loss to Harvard

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team had a chance to tie Harvard at the end of regulation, but Kim Reny's shot with four seconds left sailed wide and time ran out on the Gaels in a 14-13 loss on Monday afternoon at Saint Mary's Stadium.

The Gaels rallied from five goals down with 15 minutes to play, scoring the game's final four goals, but it wasn't enough as they fell to 3-5 on the season. Harvard improved to 2-5 overall.

In the first half the Gaels trailed 10-7, but outscored the Crimson 6-4 in the final 30 minutes. Molly Wagner led the Gaels with five goals and Jen Utley and P.J. Hainley each recorded two goals. Utley also had three assists for five points and Hainley added one assist.

The Gael offense was also led by Kim Reny, who had one goal and one assist, Jackie Spencer added one goal and two assists and Dana Elfvin added one goal.

Saint Mary's also received a solid game by Hilary Gardner in goal, who played the entire game and recorded 10 saves.

Harvard was led by Kaitlin Martin, Tara Schoen, Allie Kaveney and Natalie Curtis, who each recorded two goals.

Saint Mary's returns to action on Friday, March 31 when it hosts Denver at 4 p.m. at Saint Mary's Stadium.
